In this PDF ebooklet I show you the complete process of making a pair of mittens from drafting the pattern through to completing your final stitch.

This method uses a doube faced sheepskin that is suede on one side and furry on the other.

We start with measuring your hands and drafting the paper pattern for the main mitten trank and the thumb piece, transfering this to card and cutting out your sheepskin. I then show you how to sew your mittens together by hand. Some sewing experience is helpful but not essential.

I always advise making a mock up to test the pattern and to check you are happy with the fit. It is difficult to get everything right in the first pattern, so you may need to give the development a little time.

This is a method you can then apply to making mittens for others.
