This is a digital PDF pattern which you can download, print and assemble at home, allowing a 0.5cm overlap at the edges of the page. The test square is there as a guide. Make sure you are on A4 paper size and you may need to tweak your printer settings. I normally print the test square page at 100% and go from there.
The stole shape is a classic style that can easily be adapted for design or style purposes.
The pattern does require some sewing experience. The techniques used are similar to those in sewing cushion covers, ladder stitching and adapting patterns.
The model in the pictures is 5’ 11” (180.3cm). The pattern is aimed at those whose height falls between 5’ 5” (165cm) - 5’ 11” (180.3cm).
Included in the guidance is advice on making a plain stole, pattern matching and advice on adding surface decoration.
I would always advise making a mock up to check for fit and then adapting your pattern accordingly if required.
